FAQ

I am a new client. How do I use my 2 week Unlimited Class Pass?

Although we run our classes in 8-14 week sessions, you can start your 2 weeks of unlimited classes at anytime. The 2 weeks of unlimited classes starts the day of your first class.

To buy your pass, you can buy it online on the Mindbody Scheduler following these steps:

  1. Login in creating a password and filling other required information.

  2. Schedule your first class - the 1st class booked will become the start date of the pass, it will not allow earlier bookings - and then go to "enroll" (the system will set this class as the start day of your pass, so please pick the earliest class you wish to attend)

  3. If you are a new client, the "new client special" will be a payment option you can choose. This offer is a one time use for new clients only.

  4. Once you pay for your unlimited pass, you can then schedule as many classes as you want. The 2 week period starts the day of your first class.

  5. You can also just buy the pass from the "retail store". From the top menu, select "series" and then "New client". The "New client special" will appear.

  6. If you have never done Pilates before, we recommend that you start with Level 1/2 equipment classes. These classes are very accessible to those who may have a chronic injury or condition that requires careful strengthening and alignment.  Level 2/3, 3, & 4 are intended for those with experience in Pilates or related core-based mindful exercise forms.

  7. All of our other classes (Gravity Straps & Kettlebars, Mat, Online Essentrics) are for all levels. Please check them out – knowing that in general they are best done if you have some core training experience in your background.

  8. The Unlimited pass is for ALL classes. In general we recommend that you book your classes online using the Mindbody Scheduler, however there is usually space in our mat-based classes. The classes on the Pilates Equipment, however, have a limit of 9 and so we recommend that you definitely book these in advance online, in person, or through phone or email to ensure there is space for you. *Workshops (eg. MOTR) are Not included in the 2 week trial

  9. After your pass is done, and you wish to join a class or classes, you have a few options. You can buy a class pass in either Pilates Equipment, Mat or Online – and these passes last 6 months. Please see our fees page for more information.

  10. No Shows will void the pass, please cancel classes in advance.  You can do so using Mindbody, going to your schedule and choosing the cancel option for specific classes, or you can call or email the studio, if the message is received after the cancel window it will still be considered an early cancel.

Can I drop into classes?

We definitely allow drop-ins into our registered classes, but check online for availability or call or email to book your spot in advance so that we can ensure that there is space in that class. The mat-based classes usually have room, but the Pilates Equipment classes are limited to 9, so booking in advance is strongly recommended.

Can I do Pilates while pregnant?

Please speak to your doctor before beginning any exercise program when you are pregnant. We recommend taking private sessions to create a home program of safe and appropriate exercises. Group classes do require modifications during pregnancy, so again we would recommend taking a private session to understand what these modifications would be.

When can I start?

Throughout the year we offer four different sessions: Winter (Jan to Mar; 12 weeks) Spring (Apr to June; 12 weeks) Summer (July to Aug; 8 weeks) Fall (Sept to Dec; 15 weeks).

It is ideal if you can start at or near the beginning of a session, as the classes progress from week to week, however you are welcome to join anytime. If you do start in the middle of a session and would like help catching up - this is particularly helpful if you have injuries or chronic conditions - you can book a private session with one of our teachers.

Private training can begin at anytime throughout the year.

Can I take group classes if I have an injury or restrictive condition?

It really depends on the nature of your injury or condition. Many of our class participants have conditions that they are working through in class, so it is possible. However, first ask your doctor or physiotherapist if they recommend a group class for you. Then speak to someone at reception or to a Pilates teacher to find out more. We recommend taking at least one private session before taking a group class in this instance to give time for assessment and evaluation, and for you to get a sense of what’s involved in the classes.

What happens if I need to miss a class that I am registered for?

No problem. You can make up a missed class in any of our other equivalent classes, provided there is space. When you register for a session, you are pre-paying for all of the classes in that session. We do allow you to make up any missed classes, but the classes MUST be made up within that session. 10 class passes and single drop-in classes last 6 months, so as long as you "early cancel" the, you can make them up anytime within that time period.

  • If you are unable to attend your class, please “early cancel” by going to your online profile and selecting “cancel” on your schedule page. Cancellations must be done at least 5 hours prior to the class start time to be considered "early".

  • You are welcome to make up all classes that you “early cancel” prior to the end of the session. If you do not “early cancel” you will not be able to make up your class.

  • Scheduling drop-in or make-up classes using the Mindbody scheduler: go to the schedule and pick the class you want to take and hit "sign up now". The next page will ask you which days you want to come: either from this day onward, or picking single classes. Full classes will show as red, classes with space will show as black. If you have credited classes or a class pass, that can be used to pay for the class. If you do not, you will have to pay for your class at the time of signing up. Please feel free to contact the studio by phone or email if you need assistance with this.

  • If you miss the first 3 consecutive classes in a session without notifying the studio, you will be removed from the class roster.

  • There are some classes that are fully registered. If clients have not arrived within the first 5 minutes of the class, available spots will be offered up to those waiting on a first come, first served basis.

  • For private and semi-private sessions, missed appointments will be charged if notice is not given by 5pm the previous day.

How does the New Client Referral Program work?

When a new client registers either online or in person, they will be asked how they heard of us. If they say "another client" we will send them an email to ask which current client referred them. If they say you, we will put a $10 credit on your account to be used towards your next studio purchase. (We will notify you by email). There is no limit on how many clients you can refer.

What do I need to wear/bring?

All you need is non-restrictive clothing. Pilates is done in regular fitness attire. No footwear is required. We recommend either bare feet or our Pilates Toe-sox with a non-slip sole. We supply all of the equipment, including mats; however if you have your own equipment you are more than welcome to bring it. We also recommend bringing a bottle of water, we have a water cooler for your convenience.

How do I register?

You can register online through the Mindbody scheduler and here directly through our site or contact the office via phone, e-mail, or in person. Our schedule of classes is available on our website, and you can hold your spot in classes by pre-paying for the session.

What is your policy on refunds?

All sessions and bulk packages are non-refundable, but are transferable. Medical emergencies and special circumstances will be taken into consideration. See our Studio Policies for full details.
